Today was our first complete family outing to look for antlers and it went even better than expected.Kai did a great job riding in the rear spot of the plane in his car seat. He was within reach the whole time even with Haley and I double buckled in the back seat of the two seater super cub. Haley is turning into quite the spotter. She managed to see several antlers we pointed out as we flew by and even spotted a black bear on her own!
Why stop for lunch just any where when you can tie it in to grabbing a few antlers to bring home! We landed on a nice gravel bar and spread out for our picnic while Ern braved the cold water to cross and pick up a few antlers. Moogie and Kai did quite well for their first trip like this - Actually - Moogie did a bit better than Kai......
Haley was proud of the antler find and was determined to haul it back to the plane but got no further than the shadow length - perhaps next time without a cast on her foot?! It was fun, but all too short lived. Kai grew anxious and we still had a family BBQ to go to at Grandma and Grandpa Finches house. And she looked for antlers all the way home...........
