Clay is my passion and I miss it most every day. I have found other ways to satisfy my urge to create through drawing, and sewing. Often it is not about the finished product that I find so pleasing, it is about the process involved in the creating. I am excited that Haley is getting old enough to branch out with different art supplies. I love to watch her and to hear her think out loud about what she is doing. I have painted lots of rocks in my day! The beach at our cabin is full of them and they are free! I like to work with the natural shape of the rock and let the curves guide my marks in a way that best fits it's form.
Haley had her first try at it last night with the paint pens. She has had lots of practice with watercolors and rocks at the cabin but last night was the first with the paint pens. They are now my new favorite fixtures on my desk!
