Happy Thanksgiving!

This one is for you Ern. Your little girl is growing big, she is so tall that I cant even lift her long legs high enough to get her out of the shopping cart. She wanted curls today and she got them! She was so proud and happy that she was singing to strangers at Costco. Kai even liked them. Look but don't touch she said. Kai is getting faster by the day, it all still about putting things in and taking them out, slamming, destroying, and grunting -- he is so cute! We love you and we miss you!

Birthday Girl!

My Little girl is growing up! I am excited for four but I am so sad to see Three go. She is still so innocent and says the sweetest things. Today was not a day to celebrate. We all ended up with food poisoning yesterday and it was not a pretty site around the house the last 24 hours. Kai spent the day being well cared for by Grandma and Grandpa finch. Haley and I snuggled on the couch most of the day and made our own movie marathon as we took turns slipping in and out of sleep.
She was pretty much her old self early evening and diligently worked at making birthday hats and thank you cards for her gifts.
Gratefully, her official birthday celebration was not scheduled today. She knows that her gifts and birthday cake happen when here daddy can be her to celebrate also!

All Dressed For Winter

She does not care that it is winter, she is all about the dresses or little at all if she can get away with it. Today as usual it was short lived. Soon all the snow gear was piled on. Two kids fought and kicked against the whole 'getting ready process', then they were two happy peaches once the fresh air settled in their lungs on a much needed sled ride!

Kai had his first big day of walking outside and started to run away from us as soon as his little legs hit the ground. He was in search of deep snow in far off places....

Growing up!

I should be posting a picture if Kai! Today is his first official day of walking all around the house without assistance. He can even get up off the floor on his own and skip over the house full of toys without falling on his way to get into the trash and turn the TV channels! Instead they are pics of Haley. Her fourth birthday is just two weeks away and she is growing up so fast. She knows most of her letters and is just starting to read small words on the pages of her books.

We have been having fun at Tuesday night family races and it will be sad to see the season come to an end. Last night was dress up night and Haley was excited to wear her Incredibles costume. She dressed as Violet and when the race began she took off like a super hero! She ran so fast last night that we had a hard time keeping up. There were a few candy pass out pit stops along the race trail which really made Haley's evening! We invited some friends along and Kai was glad to have some riding company!

Haley has been spruce chicken hunting with her dad several times with no luck but today there was success! Don't let this cute little face fool you. There is a hungry little carnivore that lurks deep within that can only be satisfied by dining on her own 'catch'.

A Modle A Day!

Time For A Spin!

Only part of the other day was 'Kid less'! Grandpa finally pulled his Ford Model A out of the garage to take it for a spin. Grandpa towed this car up the old Alaska highway from Minnesota when they first moved up here over 50 years ago. Haley was pretty excited about riding in the trundle seat and Kai loved the archaic suspension system and the horn beep sound that is similar to his toy car. Grandpa was happy and proud about allot of things that day!

Kai Kai Update

He is not completely walking on his own yet but he is getting closer. He is taking a few steps between people and occasionally takes a detour to do it on his own but quickly lands flat on his cute little face. Riding in his car is no longer good enough, now he insists on pushing it for most of our walk!

Belated Birthday Boy!

We had such a nice evening celebrating Kai's first birthday with family. Haley made cupcakes and a special cake for him with help from Grammie Annie. He loved it and it was so cute to watch him dive in. Haley also helped him open up all of his gifts and helped him play with them too. Cars, trucks, and Things with wheels! He was in Heaven! ... Till he crashed from his sugar high....

Tues Night Family Races

It was another fun race night. Haley was pretty excited that her friends were there along with Grandma Linda, Grammie Annie, and her Dad. Tonight was Erns first chance to run with her. There were lots of hills to climb at Kincade park on the mile and a half race trial. She did pretty darn good for a not quite 4 year old!
